Stereotype Writer

29 Oct

This is one of the stupidest, ignorant and offensive articles I’ve ever read. Michelle Doyle, Editor of UT Culture magazine has stooped to new lows with her shallow guide to getting your own “GBF” (Gay Best Friend). I’d be surprised if she has any friends left by the end of the month, gay or straight.  This article may offend, but I don’t  approve of any personal attacks on Michelle. Play the ball, not the player.

That’s one of the most degrading pieces of garbage I’ve ever read. Truly disgusting, and all pretty much summed up by the italic emphasis slap bang in the middle of the page: “*my own* gay man”.

What BULLSHIT. Why is e’erbody so uptight about this? It’s called SATIRE. Are you also offended by the SATC version overuse of the GBF? Doubt it. Let’s use this as an opportunity to have the banter and laugh at ourselves as only a true equal society would allow. GOD BLESS. ecksohecksoh

Jesus Christ. That assaulted everything from punctuation to women’s rights to the 13th amendment.

Ah, this is just sad: while I agree with Neil that this is laughable, it misses satire altogether as it wastes two pages on a deeply insecure and poorly written tract about: nothing.

It’s just a signpost that ireland is a complete backwater where people can’t say what they mean and SATC is considered relevant – this is just the definition of a lack of talent and/or anything real to write about masquerading as op-Ed satire. FAIL.

But offensive? I don’t think so – the constructs under discussion are unfortunately partaken of by as many sad heterosexuals as LGTB. “pet” people exist, so the fact that a moron fails to make jokes about that fact is hardly offensive.
